Global Culture is Every Nation Header

Every nation is respected and equal in Barrow Hill’s diverse body of socio-economic, religious and cultural backgrounds. Representing more than 50 countries from around the world, our children learn just as much from each other as they do from their teachers. Our school’s culture is very much affected by our diverse mixture of students, making the halls of Barrow Hill more than just a school, but its own little global community.

Celebrating our Stories

Every Barrow Hill student has a story to tell, and we’re fortunate to be surrounded by cultural diversity that reminds us that learning from each other is a great way to gain new knowledge. We encourage students to share their rich personal histories through events such as Multicultural Day, when students come to school in their traditional dress and share foods from their countries of origin.

A Focus on Language

Because there are more than 50 countries represented at Barrow Hill, we often hear languages from around the world during class-time and on the playground. We recognize language as a tremendous way to become familiar with and come to appreciate other cultures.

Learning in London

Barrow Hill is fortunate to centrally located of one of the most diverse cities in the world. London’s rich history and culture serve as a perfect backdrop for our varied curriculum. We often take field trips to the city’s many museums and historic places, which offer the perfect opportunity to apply concepts we teach.
